Waste & Recycling
Rumpke Waste and Recycling provides our trash, yard waste and recycling services.
TRASH
Trash is picked up curbside on Mondays and Thursdays year-round. (See Holiday Service Schedule below for exceptions.) All trash must be bagged and placed in one of Rumpke’s brown 95-gallon trash carts for collection on trash days.
RECYCLING
Recycling materials are picked up curbside year-round on Mondays only. (See Holiday Service Schedule below for exceptions.) Recycling materials must be placed loose in one of Rumpke’s green 65-gallon recycling carts for collection on recycling days. Click here for a List of Items Allowed for Recycling.
CURBSIDE GUIDELINES
• Trash and recycling carts must be placed within three (3) feet of the curb with the lid opening and the loading bar facing towards the street.
• Trash and recycling materials must be fully contained inside trash and recycling carts. Rumpke will not collect materials placed outside of carts.
• According to federal law, Rumpke is not permitted to accept batteries, tires, liquids, combustible materials or any items identified as hazardous.
• Bulky materials including drywall, concrete, bricks, dirt, etc. are not acceptable.
YARD WASTE
Yard waste is picked up curbside March through November on Mondays only. (See Holiday Service Schedule below for exceptions.)
Loose yard waste such as limbs and brush must be cut into lengths no larger than four (4) feet long and tied into bundles that are no more than two (2) feet wide and do not exceed 50 pounds. Yard waste may also be placed in containers clearly marked as yard waste, or placed in compostable paper yard waste bags. To request a 95-gallon yard waste cart, contact Rumpke customer service.
LARGE ITEMS
Rumpke will pick up one large item (furniture, appliance, mattress) per household at the curb by appointment. Contact Rumpke customer service for this service.
